Nearly half of women over 50 live with pelvic organ prolapse — and for decades the standard fix has been a rigid pessary in a handful of fixed shapes that most bodies reject. FemTherapeutics, co-founded by CEO Inara Lalani and launched out of McGill's graduate programs in Montreal in 2022, rebuilt it from scratch: the first over-the-counter inflatable pessary, a single device that moulds to the body instead of demanding the body conform. Around that core it's building digital screening, education and support reaching women long before a specialist's office. Its founding premise — 'one size does not fit all' — indicts a century of women's health design in six words. The team emerged from academia into one of the most ignored gaps in medicine. FemTherapeutics is where femtech stops being a buzzword and starts being a body of work.
