About the brand
Aurora Wellness Group started from a simple conviction: mental health care should be accessible, human, and rooted in community — regardless of income, geography or history. Founded by Stephanie Leithead and established in Whitehorse in 2021, it has grown on average 50 percent annually to become the largest counselling clinic in the North, with 24 counsellors serving roughly 600 clients a month. In a region where specialized services are scarce and the impacts of colonization remain inseparable from health, Aurora built a model where clients feel safe, respected and represented. It also trains more than ten practicum students a year, investing in the North's next generation of clinicians. The company questioned what care could look like and then scaled the answer. Aurora is what community-rooted healthcare looks like when it actually grows.
