About the brand
Omi Woods makes fine jewellery that carries a cultural archive. Founded in Toronto in 2019 by Ashley McFarlane, the brand translates symbols of African and Island heritage — cowrie shells, Akan gold weights, ancestral geometries — into heirloom pieces handcrafted with local jewellers from recycled fine metals and responsibly sourced gemstones. Each design is made to be worn across generations, grounding diasporic identity in objects built to outlast trends. The brand contributes to Toronto's entrepreneurial jewellery community while keeping production local and ethical. Omi Woods treats jewellery as what it has always been in Africana culture: portable history. It's a small atelier doing the large work of turning heritage into heirloom.
