About the brand
Locke & King began with a job loss. When COVID-19 ended Ryan Moran's six years leading marketing at Niagara Parks in 2020, he chose not to rebuild the career he'd lost but to build the company he'd always wanted — a Canadian watch brand. Despite having no background in watchmaking, he taught himself design, manufacturing and product development, worked through prototypes and suppliers, and built the Hamilton brand around a question the industry rarely asks: why is so much of the watch world built on exclusion? Locke & King makes considered, accessible timepieces for people priced out of the heritage houses. It is a one-person company with a category-level ambition. The pandemic made a thousand founders; few built something this considered from nothing.
