Organic Traditions was importing chia, maca, cacao, matcha and medicinal mushrooms to Canada long before 'superfoods' was a category. More than 25 years ago, its founder travelled the world sourcing nutrient-dense ingredients most Canadians had never heard of. In 2017 his daughter Alexandra Mamalider left a corporate brand career to return as CEO and second-generation founder, with a mandate to grow rather than merely preserve. The Toronto company now runs a global operation around a founding belief that the world's most powerful foods should be easy to use every day. It is a genuine generational succession: rare in Canadian business, rarer still done this ambitiously. Organic Traditions built the category it still helps define. Few Canadian wellness brands can claim both the pioneering history and the next chapter.
