Comeback Snacks

Etobicoke, Ontario

About the brand

Comeback Snacks began in the unlikeliest R&D lab imaginable: federal prison. While serving a four-year sentence, Emily O'Brien watched women around her transform popcorn with whatever ingredients they could get, and realized between the kernels and the Kraft Dinner cheese powder that she'd stumbled onto something bigger than a snack. She built the Etobicoke specialty-popcorn company in 2020 around two inseparable ideas: outrageously fun flavours, and the proposition that people are more than the worst thing they've ever done. Comeback hires and champions people with records, turning a snack brand into an argument for second chances. It has made its founder's story the brand's proof of concept. Few Canadian food companies carry a mission this literal — or wear it this well.
