Odd Duck Wine & Provisions was built around a question hospitality rarely asks: what if a restaurant treated its employees' wellbeing as seriously as its guests' experience? Founded in Kitchener in 2023 by Jon Rennie, Wes Klassen and Rob Corrigan, it was designed as a different model of restaurant work: consistent compensation, benefits, work-life balance and room to grow, in an industry that normalizes burnout and precarity. The wine bar and bottle shop pairs that internal ethic with a serious, curious approach to natural wine and provisions for its community. It bet that hospitality done right internally produces hospitality worth returning for. Odd Duck is small by design and influential by example. It's the kind of restaurant that changes what the industry believes is possible.
